The Community Development Department provides services to residents, businesses and developers related to maintaining, developing and improving private property. The Department is responsible for building permits & inspections, code enforcement, economic development, floodplain management, and long and short term land use planning & zoning.
The Department also works in partnership with the South Elgin Economic Development Council (S.E.E.D.) on many economic development initiatives.
