Anyone interested in obtaining a liquor license in South Elgin should read Title XI Business Regulations, Chapter 111 Alcoholic Liquor Dealers of the Village Code of Ordinances to acquaint themselves with the requirements and responsibilities of applying for and maintaining a local liquor license. It is unlawful within the boundaries of the Village to sell alcoholic liquor, offer alcoholic liquor for sale at retail, or permit the consumption of alcoholic liquor on the premises of any business without having a retail liquor dealer's license.
Steve Ward, Village President is the Local Liquor Commissioner assisted in this function by the Local Liquor Commission Mike Kolodziej Village Trustee. The Office of Administration assists the Commission in the application and renewal of liquor licenses. The Police Department enforces all laws concerning the retail sale of alcoholic beverages. The Local Liquor Commission meets on an as-needed basis.
